MetaClaw Zn is guaranteed 100% “Chelated” with EDTA (Ethylene Diamine Tetra Acetic Acid), it is used as a fertiliser to overcome Zinc deficiency in plants,

as well as a source of Zinc for those plants which require Zinc for their normal growth and higher yields.

Benefits of MetaClaw Zn :

  1. Zinc chelate is easily translocated within the plants, because unlike Zinc Sulphate, Zn is mobile.
  2. Zinc Sulphate reduces phosphorous uptake and the phosphorous content of the shoots in plants, while  Zn-EDTA increases it.
  3. Zinc EDTA available to plant system very quickly. This is in contrast with Zinc from other sources which makes Zinc available very slowly, because a large quantity of such Zinc will be fixed in the soil.

Advantages of MetaClaw MS2C :
 
The following deficiency symptoms associated with Fe, Zn, Cu, Mn, B and Mo micronutrients can be corrected by using MetaClaw MS2C :
 
1. Chlorosis – pale coloured or yellow leaves.
2. Short internodes (rosetting).
3. Decreased leaf size.
4. Delayed maturity.
5. Stem and twig dieback.
6. Stunted growth by reducing cell wall extension at the growing point.

All the above symptoms generally appear on young plants because most of the micronutrients are immobile in the plant unless in Chelated Form.

 
However, to correct severe deficiency of a particular micronutrient, it is advised to use individual micronutrient formulation.

Role of Calcium : 

Along with magnesium and sulfur, calcium is one of the three secondary nutrients. Like primary nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium), those elements are essential for healthy plant growth. However, they are needed in lesser amounts.

Function of Calcium : 
Calcium, in the form of calcium pectate, is responsible for holding together the cell walls of plants. When calcium is deficient, new tissue such as root tips, young leaves, and shoot tips often exhibit distorted growth from improper cell wall formation. Calcium is also used in activating certain enzymes and to send signals that coordinate certain cellular activities.
Calcium Deficiency : 
Calcium is not mobile within the plant. So the plant relies on the process of transpiration in which the plant roots take up the soil solution (which contains the needed calcium), transports it to new growth where the calcium is used and the excess water vapor escapes out through holes in the leaves called stomata. Anything that slows transpiration, such as high humidity or cold temperatures, can induce calcium deficiency even if the calcium levels are normal in the growing medium. Parts of the plant that transpire little water, i.e. young leaves and fruit, will display calcium deficiencies first. Blossom end rot of tomatoes is a classic case of calcium deficiency. Calcium deficiency can arise if levels in the fertilizer solution are less than 40-60 ppm and/or potassium, magnesium, or sodium levels are too high.
Calcium Toxicity : 
Calcium toxicity rarely occurs. High levels of calcium can compete with magnesium and potassium uptake, causing their deficiencies.
 

All the above symptoms generally appear on young plants because most of the micronutrients are immobile in the plant unless in Chelated Form. Hence, use of Metaclaw Ca to treat Calcium deficiency is recommended.
